Raising Our Voices. Protecting Her Future.
Every year on November 25th, the world observes the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women—a global call to action to end one of the most pervasive human rights violations in the world.
At the LOB Foundation, this day aligns deeply with our commitment to building safe, supportive, and equitable communities. It reminds us that every woman and girl deserves to live free from fear, free from harm, and free to pursue her dreams.
Why This Day Matters
Violence against women is not just a personal tragedy—it is a societal crisis.
Globally:
- 1 in 3 women have experienced physical or sexual violence in their lifetime.
- Many cases go unreported due to fear, stigma, or lack of support.
- Girls and women face violence in homes, workplaces, schools, and public spaces.
This violence affects mental and physical health, disrupts families, limits economic opportunities, and holds entire communities back.
LOB Foundation’s Commitment
The LOB Foundation is dedicated to creating safe, equitable, and resilient communities. Our work includes:
1. Community Awareness Campaigns
We educate families, schools, and communities about the signs of abuse and available support systems.
2. Support for Survivors
We offer referrals, counselling partnerships, and community programs that promote healing, dignity, and empowerment.
3. Empowering Women & Girls
Through mentorship, life skills training, and economic empowerment initiatives, we strengthen women’s ability to become financially independent and self-confident.
4. Advocacy & Policy Influence
We partner with institutions and stakeholders to push for stronger legal protections and gender-sensitive policies.
5. Engaging Men and Boys
Ending violence requires inclusive conversations. We involve men and boys as allies in reshaping attitudes and breaking cycles of abuse.
How You Can Make a Difference
You have a powerful role to play:
- Learn the signs of abuse and speak out.
- Support survivors with empathy and confidentiality.
- Challenge harmful cultural norms and stereotypes.
- Educate boys and young men on respect, consent, and equality.
- Support organizations working to protect women and girls.
- Wear orange during the 16 Days to show solidarity.
Collectively, these actions help shape safer homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.
A Future Where Every Woman Is Safe
Violence against women is preventable—not inevitable. On this day, the LOB Foundation reaffirms its unwavering commitment to building a world where every woman and girl can live free from violence, fear, and discrimination.
Let us stand together. Let us speak up. Let us invest in prevention.
Her safety is our responsibility. Her future is our priority.
